Chiropractor
Wed 13 May 20 - Dean Tapak
How can a Chiropractor help?

At its most basic points of concern chiropractic can help reduce pain, restore function and educate patients on measures to avoid future injuries and relapses. How any one practitioner in particular may go about doing this can vary depending upon their individual practise preferences.

At the Essex-County Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic (ECNPLC) rostered patients can access chiropractic care through the integrated Low Back Pain Program. Along with a Physiotherapist and a Registered Massage Therapist a Chiropractor is available weekly at the ECNPLC to assess and provide insight into the cause and potential treatment that can put you back on track to living a pain-free life. Practitioners within the Low Back Pain program will assess your back pain, be it a long-standing issue or a more recent injury, and create a treatment plan geared towards reducing or eliminating pain and providing tools for patients to self-manage their condition.

Treatments may include hands-on therapy such as spinal adjustments/mobilizations and soft tissue therapy. Modalities may also be utilized to assist in recovery such as low-level laser therapy, ultra sound, electric stimulation, heat or ice. Finally, prescribed stretches and exercises will likely be a part of your comprehensive rehab program.

In cooperation with your Nurse Practitioner the ECNPLC low back pain program seeks to make use of any and all practitioners under one roof that may be of benefit to you and your condition. Should you have any questions about the low back pain program please phone us at 519-776-6856.
